JOEY'S WYNWOOD CAFE – Restaurant

Joey Goldman opened this place in 2008, when it was the first restaurant in Wynwood and the arts district was still mostly warehouses. It cooks Italian with a Veneto accent — wood-fired roast meats, sandwiches on house-baked bread, fresh salads, pizza that Food & Wine singled out, and a blackboard of daily specials driven by whatever came in that morning. A curated wine list and a proper bar programme run alongside. Diners treat it as the neighbourhood's constant, the room that was here before everything else. Wynwood grew up around it.
