KELLY'S CAJUN GRILL – Restaurant

The bourbon chicken hits the flat-top before the Westland Mall food court fills up, and the smell does the marketing. Kelly's Cajun Grill is built around that one dish, grilled to order and glazed sweet, with lemon chicken, blackened chicken, fish and shrimp filling out a deliberately short board. Everything is served over steamed or fried rice, lo mein, red beans and rice or vegetables, cooked on site rather than held in a tray. Portions are the point: a scoop of rice, a heap of chicken, done in a minute. Hialeah shoppers treat it as the default lunch.
