LA CARRAIA – Restaurant

The Florentine gelateria La Carraia planted its first Florida flag in Dr. Phillips, and the case looks the part: dense, hand-finished gelato in a rotating spread, pistachio and hazelnut among the steadiest. Crepes and açaí bowls round out the counter for anyone after more than a cone. Staff hand out tasting spoons freely, which is half the fun and most of the reason people linger over the choice. Indoor and outdoor seats make it a proper after-dinner stop rather than a grab-and-go. The Florence original has been singled out by Condé Nast Traveller and Vogue. Worth the queue.
