Out on Southwest 8th Street, La Casa de la Decada keeps going long after most Cuban kitchens have shut — Thursday through Saturday it runs deep into the small hours, with live musicians working the room. The cooking leans on the grill and the fryer: churrasco a la parrilla, and a whole fried snapper stuffed with seafood that lands as a centrepiece rather than a portion. Cuban and Spanish plates, chicken, pork and fish, wine by the glass, tables outside. Diners talk about the welcome as much as the food. A late table in Little Havana.
