La Gondola – Restaurant

Wilshire Boulevard, glatt kosher under the OU, and open since 1992 — long enough that the menu has drifted well past its northern Italian origins into California, Asian and Mediterranean territory without losing the thread. BBQ beef ribs and the chai steak are the orders people repeat; herb-crusted Chilean sea bass and herb-stuffed branzino fillet handle the fish side, and gluten-free and lactose-free dishes are worked into the menu rather than bolted onto it. The private Wilshire Room seats ten to forty. Diners praise the consistency above all else. Kosher dining that competes on cooking, not on category.
