A small Miami bakery cafe built around the pastry case: flaky croissants, dulce de leche strudel, tiramisu, and a tres leches that regulars single out for being rich without tipping into sweet. The coffee gets the same care, which is not a given in this city. The rooms are cosy and warmly decorated, the kind of place that works for a slow breakfast as easily as an afternoon sugar stop. What comes up again and again is how quickly and kindly the counter runs, even when it is busy. Small operation, serious baking.
