LA TIENDA LATINA – Restaurant

Half Latin grocery, half taqueria, and the combination is the point. La Tienda Latina on Southwest 13th Street runs a counter where you order and pay and the food comes to the table, with shelves of Mexican pantry staples to browse on the way out. The kitchen keeps it plain and correct: three soft tacos with onion, cilantro and lime; birria tacos; tortas built on refried beans, avocado, lettuce and tomato; burritos with Mexican rice and beans; tamales and a seafood side to the menu. There is a genuine vegetarian section too, quesadilla de hongos included. Busy from lunch until close.
