LAS PERLAS – Restaurant

A family-run Mexican kitchen on Trouble Creek Road with a full bar and a menu that refuses to be brief. Tacos come in birria, asada, carnitas, lengua and pescado; the house platillos run to molcajete, parrillada and pina loca; mariscos stretch from camarones al mojo de ajo to whole mojarra frita and pulpo al grill. There is pozole and menudo for the initiated, tres leches and churros for the rest. Regulars talk about the house-made salsas and the owners working the room. Loud, generous, and reliably good long after the beach crowd has gone home.
