Twenty-five years in, Latin Cafe 2000 still measures its day in colada cups. This is Miami Cuban cooking without the markup: ham and spinach croquetas made by hand and sent out with the house dipping sauce, a Cuban sandwich of shredded pork, ham, Swiss and pickle pressed on Cuban bread, churrasco off the char grill under housemade chimichurri. Diners land on the same verdict again and again — nothing here is fancy, everything is done properly, and the plates justify the trip. Weekend brunch adds croqueta Benedict and leche condensada pancakes. Simple food, taken seriously.
