L'Chaim – Restaurant
Bukharian cooking is rare enough anywhere in America; in Denver, L'Chaim has it more or less to itself. The Katanov family runs the city's full-service glatt kosher dining room near Cherry Creek, and the menu goes straight to the Uzbek canon: bukhari plov heavy with lamb, carrots and chickpeas; flame-grilled beef kebabs; flaky samsa filled with spiced lamb and onion; baklava layered with nuts and honey. Certified by Scroll K, closed Friday and Saturday for Shabbat. A long way from Tashkent, and closer than you would think.
