LOS COSTENOS – Restaurant

Honduran, not Mexican, and Los Costenos makes that plain from the first plate. On NW 119th Street in Miami's West Little River, the kitchen opens at eight in the morning for baleadas: folded flour tortillas with beans, cream and cheese, ordered up with carne asada by anyone who wants more. Pupusas, a ceibeno plate and grilled meats with rice and beans fill out the rest. Pool tables, cold beer and music running late turn it into a neighbourhood hangout as much as a cafeteria. Come for the baleadas. Nobody rushes you out.
