A neighbourhood Chinese kitchen in Dr. Phillips that has quietly outlasted most of its competition, Lotus Garden built its following on takeout done properly. The order sheet runs to sesame chicken, orange chicken and honey chicken, hot and sour soup, wonton soup and egg rolls, pepper steak, steamed dumplings, and a house special lo mein. Diners single out the vegetables — actual Chinese greens rather than the usual frozen medley — and portions that make the lunch specials look like a mistake in your favour.
