LUPITA'S MEXICAN FOOD – Restaurant

A small family-run Mexican kitchen on University Boulevard North, run by Lupita herself and pitched squarely at people who want a lot of food for not much money. The California burrito is the order everyone talks about; tacos al pastor, tacos dorados, chile relleno and the fajita quesadilla round out a menu cooked to order. Diners come back for the portions and the welcome as much as the food, and the room stays busy through a six-day lunch-and-dinner stretch. Jacksonville has flashier Mexican rooms. Few are this generous.
