On West Sand Lake Road in Dr Phillips, The Madras Cafe cooks southern India and nothing else: the kitchen is one hundred percent vegetarian, with a long run of vegan dishes and a set of Jain preparations that leave out anything grown underground. Dosas come off the griddle to order, alongside samosas, curries and thali sets that arrive as a whole meal on one tray. Prices stay reasonable, portions do not shrink to match. Orlando's default for a proper South Indian lunch.
