Max and Mina's – Restaurant
A Flushing institution built on refusing to be normal. Brothers Bruce and Mark Becker opened Max & Mina's on Main Street in 1997, named for their grandparents, and have invented thousands of flavours since — all of it churned in-house, batch after batch. The board rotates through rainbow cake, cookie monster, Fruit Loops and hot cheese doodle, then keeps going into lox, Cajun, beer and malt. The room is papered floor to ceiling in cereal boxes, bumper stickers and hand-lettered signs. People come to be dared into something ridiculous and leave converted. Ask what is new. There always is.
