Mendel's KC BBQ – Restaurant

Kosher Kansas City barbecue on Chagrin Boulevard, and the smoker does most of the talking. Burnt ends and sliced brisket lead, backed by beef ribs, smoked pastrami, smoked turkey and lamb ribs, with brisket truffle poutine and chicken and waffles for anyone after the indulgent route. Baked beans, grilled corn and sweet potato fries fill out the tray. Its arrival was treated as a genuine event by Cleveland's kosher diners, who had never had barbecue at this level locally, and the brisket is what keeps getting singled out.
