Moon Thai & Japanese on Weston Road is the suburban Broward outpost of a small Florida group, and the kitchen keeps the Thai side front and centre. Appetisers set the tone — chicken satay in coconut marinade with peanut sauce, fresh spring rolls wrapped in rice paper with shrimp and mint, marinated pork belly, coconut shrimp. The soups are the reason to come back: tom yum sharp with lime and lemongrass, tom kha soft with coconut milk. Pad thai, dumplings and har gow round it out, and there is a full Japanese sushi menu beside it. Confident, family-run cooking.
