Motek Miami Beach (Collins Ave) – Restaurant

On Collins Avenue at 27th Street, Motek runs the Mediterranean all-day room it has become known for across South Florida. Everything is cooked without seed oils, and the pita is baked as it is ordered. The shakshuka is the signature, eggs poached into spiced tomato and delivered in the pan with challah for mopping. Around it: hummus, crisp-fried cauliflower, bright salads, chicken schnitzel sandwiches, arayes of spiced beef pressed into pita. Israeli at heart, with Moroccan, Lebanese and Yemeni threads running through. Busy from morning on, and comfortable with it.
