Evan Funke's Roman restaurant in the Design District takes its name from the she-wolf of the city's founding myth, and the room plays it to the hilt. The pastas are the reason to book: carbonara, cacio e pepe, tonnarelli, linguine al limone, gnocchi that arrive impossibly light. Wafer-thin wood-fired pizzas and seasonal antipasti - gamberi in salsa verde, panzanella - fill out the rest. Guests talk endlessly about the bread, then about the service. Dinner only, from half past five. Handsome, loud, and serious about flour.
