A tiny breakfast-and-lunch counter on Jensen Beach Boulevard, open seven in the morning until one in the afternoon and closed Sundays — miss the window and you miss it. The cooking is straight diner: two eggs with bacon and shredded hash browns, southern fried steak and eggs with home fries, grits, biscuits and gravy, sausage-and-cheese omelettes, egg salad sandwiches and a shaved steak and cheese at lunch. What people talk about as much as the food is the welcome; the owner runs the room like a kitchen table and diners leave feeling looked after. Small, cheap, and genuinely warm.
