Las Marias sits on SW 8th Street in the middle of Little Havana cooking Nicaraguan food, with a run of Colombian plates alongside. Rice and beans, fried plantains and sopa de res anchor the menu, and the fresh juices are made rather than poured. Doors open at eight in the morning and run to nine or ten at night. There is a real vegetarian selection, which is rarer in this stretch of Calle Ocho than it should be. A working neighborhood restaurant, not a tourist stop.
