STAR CHIGUAS PIZZA 3 – Restaurant
A family pizzeria on West 43rd Place that has been folding Cuban pizza since 1993 and is now on its second generation behind the counter. The pizza doblada is the whole identity - the folded Cuban pie, heavy with cheese, creased over and handed across in paper, the way Hialeah has eaten it for decades. Open seven days from eleven until almost ten, with delivery running through the evening. It is a counter, a queue and a very hot oven; there is no dining-room ambition here. Regulars have been coming since the nineties and bring their kids, which is more or less the point.
