Taqueria Morelia has been cooking Michoacan-style Mexican in south Miami-Dade since November 2007, with the Florida City room on West Palm Drive and a second on NE 8th Street in Homestead. Tacos are the stated specialty and the reason for the local reputation, but the menu runs deeper - enchiladas, flautas, chile rellenos, alambre, ceviche, a full breakfast service, and micheladas to go with it. Both rooms open at nine and run until ten daily. One sits beside a gas station you would drive straight past, which is exactly the kind of place that ends up winning a city best-Mexican award.
