Ted's Burgers put Miami's smashburger craze in motion and now has a brick-and-mortar on Northwest 25th Street in Wynwood, open to two in the morning on weekends. The kitchen makes exactly three burgers and refuses to pad the list; the Oklahoma fried onion burger is the one to order, and ordering it as a double is the house advice. Alongside it there are very crisp fries and a soft-serve machine, and that is the whole idea. Diners consistently say the restraint is the point — a short menu executed to the same standard every visit.
