A small counter near downtown Miami that opens at six in the morning and runs to early evening, six days a week. It is home cooking, plainly served: grits with eggs and bacon, smoked sausage and eggs, seasoned chicken, meatloaf, mac and cheese, conch and fries. Seating is plastic patio furniture in a tight room, and nobody is pretending otherwise. Opinions divide sharply here, with some praising the cooking and the cashier's warmth while others find the prices steep for what arrives. Best treated as an early breakfast stop.
