Urbana (Boro Park) – Restaurant

A kosher dairy Italian dining room on 53rd Street in Boro Park, built around an open kitchen so you can watch the plates come together. The cooking is more ambitious than the neighbourhood pizza-and-pasta default: goat cheese egg rolls, macaroni and cheese balls, spinach ricotta rosettes, forest mushroom and Italiano pizzas, pistachio-crusted salmon, whole roasted bronzino, truffle parmesan fries, and a house cheesecake to finish. Salads get singled out as often as anything hot. The room stays calm and quiet, which is why it works equally for a date, friends or family. Prices are high; almost nobody seems to mind.
