A small, loud, permanently busy room on the ground floor of downtown's Elser Hotel, doing wood-fired pizza and proper cocktails until midnight. The pies are the draw — clam, spicy pepperoni, and a mortadella with pistachio pesto that people order on sight — backed by a Caesar salad regulars insist is the best they've had, plus oysters, scallops, wagyu carpaccio and ceviche. A burger surfaces on Mondays in limited numbers. Finish with the affogato martini over pistachio gelato. Negronis and sbagliatos are built with intent. Reserve ahead; it fills the moment the doors open at five.
