A long-standing kosher Chinese kitchen on Hempstead Avenue in West Hempstead, under VHQ supervision and closed Saturdays as you would expect. The menu is classic and generous: steamed dumplings, hot and sour soup, a house special noodle soup carrying chicken, beef and veal, crispy beef, sesame chicken, lo mein, chicken and tofu, and Moo Shu veal. Sundays bring an all-you-can-eat buffet with a genuinely wide protein spread. Diners talk about food arriving fast and hot, warm hospitality and small unasked-for extras from the kitchen. The decor is dated. The cooking is not.
