Eight years on Southwest Eighth Street, Alba's cooks Honduran food the way Central American grandmothers do: slowly, generously, from family recipes handed down. Baleadas come folded around beef, lomo de cerdo asado arrives as roast pork loin, and the soups do heavy lifting, sopa de pollo alongside beef soup, menudo and a seafood version. Doors open at eight in the morning, and on weekends the kitchen runs until three. Music plays, karaoke takes over late, and portions are built to be shared across a table. The welcome matters here as much as the plate. Little Havana, with a Honduran accent.
