ALTAVILLA – Restaurant

A Mission Hills strip-plaza trattoria that has been feeding north Naples since 2013, equally happy sending out an eighteen-inch pie or a plate of veal. Start with fried calamari, arancini or mussels fra diavolo, or escarole and beans if you want the old-country version. Then linguini con vongole, orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage, penne alla vodka, or chicken and veal done francese, piccata, marsala and parmigiana. Snapper livornese and frutti di mare cover the seafood side. Pizzas run from margherita to fig and prosciutto. Finish with cannoli, zeppole or tiramisu. Closed on Mondays. Neighbourhood Italian, done properly without fuss.
