Altidor Wings is a Haitian kitchen built around two pieces of equipment: the fryer and the grill. Wings come either way, and the griot, pork shoulder marinated then fried until the edges go crisp, is the plate that tells you what kind of place this is. Beyond that sit slow barbecue ribs, a whole grilled fish, and cheeseburgers for the less adventurous, plus the sides that do most of the real work, rice and beans, fries, sweet fried plantains. The kitchen opens at midday and runs to the back end of the evening. Straightforward Haitian-American cooking, priced for a weeknight.
