Arais Machane Yehuda carried a technique honed in Jerusalem's Machane Yehuda market over to Ventura Boulevard: seasoned meat pressed inside handmade pita, then blistered over fire until the bread drinks up everything the filling gives off. That is the house signature. The menu extends it with stuffed pitas of grilled chicken thigh, schnitzel and ribeye, a vegan Jerusalem mix for the meatless, a run of vegetable sides, and cold beer or wine to drink. The kitchen is glatt kosher under RCC supervision. Lunch runs long Sunday through Thursday; Friday closes early for Shabbat.
