Doors open at seven in the morning, which tells you what kind of place this is: a Miami Gardens seafood-and-soul-food room where breakfast and lunch matter more than dinner. Red velvet waffles, cheese grits with scrambled eggs and bacon, then waffles under fried chicken wings or grilled chicken breast. The seafood sells by the half pound. Fried snapper, catfish, shrimp and jumbo shrimp, and conch either fried or dressed. Grilled grouper has its own following. Closed Mondays, longer hours Friday and Saturday, sweet tea and lemonade in two sizes. Portions are honest and the conch is the thing to order.
