ART'S SANDWICH SHOP – American
Since 1972 this family-run counter on South Orange Blossom Trail has built subs to order, one at a time. The cheese steak is the reason most people pull in, but the board runs long: hot and cold subs, a signature Cuban with pickle spear, mild peppers and black olives, turkey bacon club, ham and cheddar, pastrami and cheese stacked between bread. Hot dogs come plain, chili-topped, Italian or super-sized. Homemade chili by the bowl, chef and tuna salad bowls, cherry cheesecake and jumbo brownies to finish. There is a drive-through, a few tables, and no pretence. Order, wait, eat well.
