Avenue Restobar – greek_restaurant

Thirtieth Avenue in Astoria, an ivory-toned room with a little South Beach in its bones, and sidewalk tables that fill the moment the weather allows. Avenue Restobar starts Greek, with chicken souvlaki, flash-fried calamari, spreads to scoop and zucchini croquettes, then wanders into guacamole, shrimp tacos, seafood risotto and pizza. Doors open at nine in the morning, which is what makes the bottomless brunch the weekend fixture it has become, and close after midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Cocktails run late and the volume climbs with them. Neighbourhood Mediterranean that would much rather throw a party than a quiet dinner.
