Babe's Meat & Counter – Restaurant
A butcher case runs the length of the room, and the kitchen behind it cooks what the case sells. Jason and Melanie Schoendorfer have run this Palmetto Bay counter since 2018, adding roughly forty seats in a 2026 expansion. Babe's Burger, a prime and Wagyu blend with sriracha mayo and house pickles, took Miami New Times' best burger honours in 2025. Around it sit poutine under beef gravy and cheddar curds, a Cuban of house-smoked ham and roast pork, and a cheesesteak with sherry onions. Regulars talk about the sourcing. Breakfast through mid-afternoon only, and then the griddle goes quiet.
