BABILONIA – Restaurant

Thirty-six years of Syrian cooking, carried from Syria to Maracaibo and finally to a Doral unit off NW 25th Street. Babilonia builds its menu around the shawarma spit, chicken, beef, kibbeh, tenderloin or falafel, folded into pita with tabbouleh and sesame cream. Start with a trio of hummus, muhammara and baba ghanoush, or a shanklish salad and fattoush. Kibbeh arrives baked or raw, kebabs come off the grill, and rice turns up two ways: with lentils under fried onion, or with vermicelli and almonds. There is a dining room, plus pickup and catering. The family credits their grandmother Amalia's recipes.
