BAMBOOS – Restaurant

Bamboos keeps a small storefront on Southwest 91st Street in Gainesville and cooks Chinese-American food that regulars order weekly. The card is deep for the size of the place: thirty-one combination platters, eleven house specials plus a separate hot list, chow mein, lo mein, mei fun, moo shu, egg foo young, hibachi fried rice and pad thai. A diet section keeps things steamed, and nine soups open the card. The crab rangoon draws particular praise, and takeout orders go out fast. Closed Mondays, with weekend service starting in the afternoon. Unfussy, consistent, and run by owners who know their regulars.
