The bar bills itself a neighbourhood institution and the current sign is only the latest: the room at 4021 54th Avenue North opened as Mary's Inn in 1959, became Marsha's Wayside Inn, and trades today as Bar Mastiff. Doors open at eight in the morning and close at three, with Sunday starting later. There is no kitchen, only drink. Guinness, Goose IPA and Pulp Friction anchor the craft list, while cheap wells, buckets and bloody marys are stacked into specials that shift by day and by hour. Darts, bowling, pool, a jukebox and Golden Tee handle the rest of it.
