BELLA ITALIA – Restaurant

Part Italian market, part kitchen, Bella Italia occupies a unit on North Wickham Road and is run by owners from Naples. Shelves carry imported groceries and wine; the counter turns out hand-made pizza, margherita, tomato and basil, white with ricotta, plus stromboli, calzones and eggplant rolls. Sandwiches split hot and cold: meatball, chicken and veal parm on one side, prosciutto di Parma, sweet coppa and soppressata on the other. Signature plates arrive with garlic knots, from spaghetti and meatballs to shrimp fra diavolo and meat lasagna. Authentic gelato and Italian pastries finish the counter. Daytime hours only, Tuesday through Saturday.
