Ben's Kosher Deli (Bayside) – Restaurant
The 26th Avenue branch is the Queens home room of Ben's: 150 seats in the dining room, eighty more in the party room, and a steady trade in visiting tour groups. This is old-school New York kosher deli cooking. Corned beef and tongue are pickled on site, pastrami and brisket are carved for overstuffed sandwiches on rye, and the hot side runs to Hebrew National franks, chicken in the pot with a matzo ball, kreplach and noodles, hot open brisket with gravy, and broiled hanger steak. Takeout opens at nine and the dining room at eleven, seven days a week.
