A Kendall sandwich counter that has been feeding southwest Miami for close to fifty years, and the flat top is the reason. Meat gets seared long enough to char before it hits the roll, and the sandwiches come generously sauced. The honey mustard chicken sub, drenched while still on the grill, is the one to know; regulars also work through Italian cold cuts, the steak bomb, tuna salad, roast beef, the turkey bacon club, and teriyaki, barbecue or Italian steak subs. Salad platters and egg subs fill the board. A couple of picnic tables sit outside. Family-run, unfussy, and quick.
