BLACKFIN BISTRO – Restaurant
A compact room at the quieter end of Duval Street, open since 2009 under partners Joseph and Michael Castellano, doing straightforward bistro cooking with local seafood at its centre. Lunch runs noon to four, dinner five to ten, Tuesday through Saturday. Starters lean classic: grilled octopus, escargots in garlic parsley butter. Mains put grilled yellowfin tuna with a ginger and sweet soy emulsion over soba noodles and tempura French beans. The Blackfin Burger comes with bacon and swiss, and there is a yellowfin tuna burger beside it. The wine list runs deep by glass and bottle. Unhurried and reliably cooked.
