BONFIRE MOFONGO HOUSE AND LOUNGE – Restaurant
Dominican cooking by day and a full club by night, on Northwest 7th Street in Miami's Little Havana. The kitchen's calling card is mofongo, the mashed green plantain dish the venue was originally named for, alongside empanadas and an arroz chaufa de camarones that borrows from the island's Chinese-Dominican tradition. Weekends run late: doors stay open until five in the morning on Friday and Saturday, when live merengue and bachata acts take over and bottle service, cocktails and hookah come into play. It trades today as Bonfire Restaurant and Lounge, and it has a sibling room in Paterson, New Jersey.
