A Denver neighbourhood fixture since 1986, family-run and still churning everything on site, Bonnie Brae keeps more than 120 flavours in rotation and puts roughly thirty in the case on any given day, alongside frozen yogurt, sorbet and sherbet. Cappuccino Crunch, Butter Brickle and Triple Death Chocolate are the regulars people come back for; the rest rotates through territory like Butterfinger Oreo and Unicorn Poop. A model train runs its circuit around the shop, and tasting spoons are handed out freely, which is how most first visits go. Open until ten most nights, eleven at weekends. Take two scoops outside.
