BRASAS KEY BISCAYNE – Restaurant

Peruvian rotisserie on Crandon Boulevard, working the charcoal from midday until eight and building its reputation on pollo a la brasa: whole or half birds, marinated and spun over coals until the skin crackles. The sandwich board is the other draw, with chicharron, pollo a la brasa and lomo saltado versions stacked generously. Salchipapas arrive as the obvious thing to share, and ceviche and empanadas round out the Peruvian side of the menu. The dining room is small, softly lit and easy rather than formal. Regulars single out the chicken and the unhurried, friendly counter service. Straightforward, generous and satisfying.
