Six New York counters - Union Square, Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, the Upper East and West Sides and Brooklyn Bridge Park - built around slow-fermented sourdough and one very persuasive babka. The chocolate version, braided with Nutella and dark chocolate, was named the city's best by New York magazine. Around it: sesame and poppy challah, sesame-rolled Jerusalem baguettes, Kalamata olive rye, Swiss muesli rolls, feta and potato burekas, cheese straws and chocolate rugelach by the dozen. The cafe side runs scrambled-egg sandwiches, egg salad on whole wheat, cured salmon on a Jerusalem baguette. In DUMBO they braid babka into pizza.
