West Tampa's Armenia Avenue smokehouse opens Wednesday through Saturday at eleven and closes when the meat runs out. Pitmaster and founder Danny Hernandez smokes Akaushi Wagyu brisket over locally sourced oak, alongside Cheshire pork ribs glazed in tangy guava barbecue sauce, rosemary and thyme turkey breast, Cuban mojo pulled pork with crackling, and house sausages in jalapeno cheddar, Texas hot link or chorizo. Sides stretch to mac and cheese, collard greens with smoked ham, navy beans with ham hocks, tallow fries and maduros. The Smokehouse Cuban arrives on La Segunda bread. Brisket bon bons finish it. No freezers, no microwaves.
