A cramped counter on North Armenia Avenue, a colada steaming on the pass, and a line that does not seem to shorten - this has been the West Tampa routine since 2005. The pressed Cuban is the reason most people are standing there, particularly the honey-glazed version regulars call the Obama, but the breaded steak sandwich, the ropa vieja, the tripleta and a properly crisp papa rellena all hold their own, and breakfast runs early. Seating is limited and parking tighter, so most orders leave in a bag. Fast, unfussy, and consistently good.
