CACHITA CUBAN CUSINE – Restaurant

A Normandy Isle counter that opens early each morning and runs Cuban all day. Breakfast is the anchor: two eggs any style with homemade potatoes, Cuban toast and a coffee latte, omelets, steak and eggs, pan con tortilla, plus croquettes, tequenos and guava pastries from the panaderia case. Lunch turns to ropa vieja, rabo encendido, palomilla steak, roast pork, fried pork chunks and shrimp in creole or garlic sauce, with white rice, moros, maduros and cassava alongside. Cuban and midnight sandwiches go out fast. Batidos come in mamey, trigo, papaya and maracuya. Closed Sundays, and the doors shut by seven.
